InfoSafe Inc.

"Helping Businesses Cover Their Assets"

InfoSafe is here to help your business navigate the new Massachusetts information security requirements, as well as other industry-specific regulatory compliance obligations such as HIPAA, GLBA and the Red Flags Rule.

Massachusetts 201 CMR 17 went into effect on March 1, 2010. If your business maintains any personal information of a Massachusetts resident, you must now take rigorous steps to protect this information. "Personal information" includes a resident's last name and either first name or first initial, combined with any of the following:

• social security number

• driver's license number or state-issued ID card number

• financial account number

• debit or credit card number

Remember, 201 CMR 17 applies to employees' information as well as that of customers.

201 CMR 17 - Compliance is Mandatory, but the Aggravation Isn't

InfoSafe will come to your business and perform a comprehensive on-site compliance assessment and develop a customized Written Information Security Program (WISP) in accordance with the regulations.

In many instances, companies will need to develop employee training programs and take procedural and technological steps to enhance information security. We are available to coordinate compliance services with your IT managers or can introduce you to IT professionals ready to assist with all of your IT needs.

InfoSafe is also available to provide training to your employees as mandated by these new regulations, assist the WISP coordinator in effectuating any necessary remediation and provide ongoing management consultation services to better ensure continued data security and conscientious risk management.
